KinderCare Enters 41st State with Center Opening in Idaho

03/25/2025

Idaho location will have capacity to serve up to 80 children in the Boise area

Lake Oswego, Ore., March 25, 2025 – KinderCare Learning Companies, Inc. (NYSE: KLC) (“KinderCare”), a leading provider of high-quality early childhood education, today announced the opening of its first early childhood education center in Idaho.

“This Idaho acquisition marks an important chapter for our company, as we continue to bring our best-in-class child care to hardworking families across the country,” KinderCare Chief Executive Officer Paul Thompson said. “Our research shows that parents in the United States need accessible child care now more than ever. That’s why we’re excited to expand into Idaho to ensure more working families in Boise have access to affordable, quality early childhood education and care that they can depend on.”

Formerly the Boise Daycare and Learning Center, the center will be rebranded as the Boise KinderCare. The center currently employs seven teachers and can serve up to 80 children. The building has seven classrooms, a kitchen, an outdoor play area and an indoor cafeteria. For more information about the center, please visit the Boise KinderCare webpage.

A recent KinderCare survey of more than 2,000 parents nationwide showed that 63% of parents feel child care has become harder to secure in their local communities, while 82% of parents surveyed said they would advocate for more accessible child care in their state. Idaho in particular has struggled with a shortage in child care options in recent years.

Idaho marks the 41st state that KinderCare has programs in. The company also has programs in Washington, D.C.
