KinderCare Releases Inaugural Corporate Responsibility Report

10/23/2025

First annual report highlights measurable progress across priority areas

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.--For more than 55 years, KinderCare Learning Companies, Inc. (NYSE: KLC) (“KinderCare”) has built confidence for life in millions of children and families across the United States. Today, the company released its inaugural Corporate Responsibility Report, showcasing measurable progress in expanding access to high-quality early childhood education, empowering educators, strengthening communities and advancing responsible operations that promote environmental and organizational resilience.

“This report reflects our commitment to being a responsible, ethical company, while sustaining the people who trust us every day: children and families, our teachers and employees, and the communities where we live and work,” said Chief Executive Officer Paul Thompson. “The report is both our roadmap and our promise – helping us build a stronger, more confident future together.”

The report details KinderCare’s impact in 2024 across key areas:

Our Classrooms
Demonstrating a continued commitment to quality, more than 87% of KinderCare Learning Centers were nationally accredited; compared to fewer than 15% of providers nationwide. Building a foundation of educational excellence in our classrooms, more than 100,000 children were assessed using the BRIGANCE® Screening Tool. These results became a valuable part of family conferences, offering parents a window into their child’s successes and areas of growth under our care. KinderCare also became the first national early childhood education provider to earn the WELL Health-Safety Rating reinforcing its leadership in health and safety standards.

Our People
In 2024, KinderCare earned its eighth consecutive Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award, making us the first and only child care education provider to receive this distinction. Additionally, 75% of our total workforce reported being fully engaged, which is more than double the national average and places us in Gallup’s 81st percentile. The company’s culture of learning and development ensures every employee has access to onboarding, coaching and clear career pathways.

Our Communities
More than 40% of children attended KinderCare programs through subsidized tuition, helping families of all backgrounds and means access quality care. The company partners with employers, school districts and government agencies to strengthen access and affordability. In 2024 alone, KinderCare partnered with more than 800 state and local subsidy agencies to ensure access to high-quality child care in communities across the country.

Responsible Operations

KinderCare is embedding sustainability across its operations to support long-term resilience. In 2024, KinderCare conducted an enterprise-wide greenhouse gas inventory and completed its first climate risk assessment aligned with the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). The company also joined a community solar program and implemented energy-efficiency upgrades across 100+ centers, reducing emissions and operational costs while building environmental resilience.
